I grew up in Waterville, child of French-Canadian second generation immigrants. Majored in art at Colby College and sculpture at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture through scholarships and by earning the rest in the summers working in a library, as a hairdresser’s apprentice, a cook and a waitress.
I became a teacher after being married, living in Germany for three years with my Air Force husband and having two children there. Had to pick up all the required courses along the way. Still learning.
Professional goal : to make the Arts an important part of everyday life. I became an art teacher and then a Gifted and Talented Program Coordinator because of my belief that everyone’s talents and gifts need to be recognized and developed through education and life experience.
