The Valley Arts Alliance had its first meeting in 2008, Wednesday, Jan. 16 at the Sebasticook Middle School. The VAA Board met at 5 PM, and elected new officers. The general VAA Meeting, was held at 6 PM., when many items were discussed, including participation in the upcoming Chamber Trade Show, on May 3rd. Grace Keown was nominated for Chair, Annette Houston as Vice Chair, Karen Mcgrady, treasurer, Marjorie Whipple Recording Secretary, Annette and Suzanne Trussel Publicity, Jane Briggs, Ways and Means (development) Bonnie Ross was elected to plan programs of interest to all of the members. Recruitment will be shared by all of the members. Suggestions were made for upcoming programs, trips to museum, flower shows, demo's, ways to bring more members..discussions of grants, what we need to do for the cultural series.. Next meeting date will be on Wed. March 19, 5pm at Tim Horton's in Newport.
